Happy Monday, Mojo friends! Since it's the last week of the month, we like to mix things up and focus on non-traditional sized cards, so we've given you a Round or Square option. Try a round card, a square card or both if you're feeling really inspired!! {If you're not sure how to make a round card, I described my process in the 2nd paragraph of this post on my blog a while back.} And for those unsure about square cards a 4.25" square is a perfect size to start with, and it will even fit in a regular A2 envelope.

As always, feel free to substitute if you don't have a specific shape - just make the sketch work for you! It's Monday again and that means it's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch to kickstart your week!

This week we're doing a little blocking on our cards, which I always find fun, especially deciding on what I want to put in each space! You can use whatever measurements you like to get there, but for those who don't want to do too much math on a Monday morning, here's what I did for the largest mats on my card... four 1-1/2" x 1-5/8" panels and one 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" panel, then space evenly on a 4" x 5.25" panel and mount to a normal size card base.

I had a lot of fun with this week's layout. So since it's Round or Square week try a round card, a square card or both if you're feeling really inspired!! {If you're not sure how to make a round card, I described my process in the 2nd paragraph of this post on my blog a few months ago.}

This week's sketch may look tricky, but I promise it's easy "piece-y"! {grin} The background is just a square cut into quarters along the diagonal so that you have four triangles. Then flip over two opposing sides and piece back together with tape. For the circle sketch, do the same thing, then just cut your circle from your pieced together square.

Mojo Mirror on the wall, who's the MOJO-EST of ALL?

We had so much fun checking out the 324 entries for last week's February Mojo Madness 177 contest! You all rocked the blogosphere with your fabulous Mojo cards! I've had a few questions about the judging process, so I thought I'd give a refresher on what goes on behind the scenes. Each member of our design team is given a group of entries to judge. Then each judge narrows her group of entries down to her favorite three. We're looking for eye-catching, creative uses of the sketch... something that just says MOJO! Whether that's clean and simple, shabby, modern or whimsical... we love it all and each of our judges brings a unique style of their own to the judging process. Once everyone has submitted their finalists, I go through each and every contest entry, adding any extras that caught my eye, then start the process of narrowing things down to the final winners! That is the most difficult part of all and it usually takes me about 4-6 hours to check out every entry, choose the winners, create the slideshow and write the winner's announcement. There are always so many uniquely beautiful finalists to choose from and they all deserve a shout out, so my favorite part is the slide show! Mojo Monday 177 - CONTEST

Welcome to another month of Mojo Monday! It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time to kick off our February CONTEST! {For those of you new to Mojo, we just play for fun most weeks, but the first sketch of every month is our Mojo Madness contest with prizes for our top picks.} Are you ready to play?

The Prizes: We'll have one winner for every 50 entries, up to a max of SEVEN winners!!! Winners will receive the Verve Stamps set of their choice.

How to play: Just upload a project using this week's sketch to your online blog or gallery. Then leave a link to your project in the linky widget at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword MOJO177. Our challenge is open to everyone, Verve stamps are NOT required to participate, and you can enter as many times as you want. This week's sketch was designed by Mary Fish! I thought the little curve provided so many options for dividing the space, so adapted her concept for a round or square sketch. Whether you use punches, embellishments or ribbon to create your curve, it's sure to be a blast! For my sample card, I used a jar on my desk to trace a curve, then hand cut it, layered onto a full circle of the other paper and embellished over the top. After my card was finished I had another idea to just mask off the top curve and use a background stamp to make an easy one layer version. Maybe I'll give that a go later this week! See? Welcome to another week of Mojo Monday! It's time to get sketchy and this week we've got a fun one for you with limited layers, which you can dress up or down!

This week's sketch was inspired by a card I made a few weeks ago for the Verve release. I loved the way it came together, especially the possibility for so many different interpretations of the ribbon/border strip across the horizontal panel. And those hat pins are so hot right now, I thought I'd see what y'all can do with them. If you don't have store bought ones - you can raid your sewing stash and add a few embellishments to a stick pin, or just get creative with your stamps, like Mary did below. As always, if you don't have a certain shape, feel free to substitute. For my original card I used a heart shape, but for this week's sample I went with a circle. The most important thing is to make the sketch work for you and to have fun! And to get your mojo wheels a turnin' this week, here's a little inspiration from the Mojo Makers:

	This week's sketch was inspired by this card I made for the last Verve release. I thought the two little punched shapes would be fun for all sorts of embellishments, and who doesn't love to play with a little ribbon when you get the chance? My ribbon treatment is just a bow tied around a panel, and then another length of ribbon tied around the bow. Check out my blog, Poetic Artistry, for more details on this card. New Mojo Makers!

Hi Everybody! Nope, you're not losing a day, it's Sunday, but I wanted to make a little announcement before tomorrow's sketch is revealed. As you may have noticed from that empty spot in our previews the past few weeks, our dear friend, Wendy Bond has stepped down from the Mojo team. She's provided inspiration here every Monday for almost 2 years and her adorable cards and uber fun personality are already sorely missed! If you get a chance, be sure to hop over to Wendy's blog and let her know how much her hard work and dedication to Mojo Monday has been appreciated!

With Wendy's departure, I decided to fill the team out to its original seven members, so we have two fabulously talented new Mojo Makers joining us! I've had the pleasure of working with both of these designers before, and am so excited to have them join the team! You'll be seeing their takes on our weekly sketches starting with tomorrow's Mojo Monday sketch! Both of these gals are super talented, loyal mojo participants and total class acts!
